Celtics Insider believes Brandon Bass will be traded

CSNNE.com's Celtics Insider A. Sherrod Blakely, believes a deal is in the cards concerning Celtics power forward Brandon Bass. On Monday, the Sporting News reported that the Warriors, and Bobcats shared interest in Bass.

Celtics Insider A. Sherrod Blakely thinks Bass will get traded by the deadline.

"I do think he's going to get dealt," Blakely said. "And at this point there's a lot of window shopping that you're seeing going on by teams. But certainly the way he has played is a big factor but even a bigger factor is that he has a very manageable contract. He has another year left on that deal after this one, but when you look at his production, and when you look at the fact that he's making less than $7 million a year, that's a guy that pretty much every team in the NBA can find a way to fit in a role player like him."

I would have to agree that Bass could be easier to deal then Green. Bass is making a few million less, and perhaps he fits more of a need for a contender. Bass is pretty consistent, he's going to score 10-12 a night, with an occasional 20 point game. Bass will also give you 5-8 rebounds a night, with an occasional 10-12 rebound game. Bass is the perfect role player, he knows his role, and he'll perform that role out to the best of his ability.

  1. I'd like to see Bass stay, but I won't be terribly upset if he goes. He and Rondo really understand each other though. He knows how to play off Rondo and no one else on the team really does.

  2. Yeah, I wouldn't mind seeing Bass go. He's a damn steady go, but like Crawford staying stunted Pressey, Olynyk can eat some of those minutes. We Have Hump who can start, and should be starting.
