Rondo trade rumor rundown

I thought I would do a quick recap, and roundup on all the alleged rumors surrounding Rondo. The list of teams rumored to want Rondo? Pick a number, the Knicks, Raptors, Kings, Warriors, Rockets, and Rondo's own team maybe.

CSNNE

Ryan Wolstat of the Toronto Sun:
It’s no secret Boston has dangled four-time all-star Rajon Rondo league-wide and while the asking price is steep, he has piqued the interest of Toronto’s front office, according to multiple sources. Toronto is eager to up its “star” quotient and is also enamoured with Rondo’s resume, particularly his four all-defensive team selections (two all-NBA first team). He has many backers in the organization.

The Raptors seem to be in a buying mindset. The Raptors were accused of tanking after they traded Rudy Gay to the Kings, but the Raptors have done the opposite. Toronto is 29-24, and hold the third seed in the East. Even if the Raptors don't land Rondo, you can expect them to be buyers at the deadline.

Next up the Golden State Warriors, who seem to be a player away from taking the next step. This rumors seems the most unlikely, and usually when Bleacher Report has a rumor, it's off the wall.

Bleacher Report link

Bleacher Report's, Ric Bucher is reporting that both the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets could be interested in making a trade for Rajon Rondo.

The Warriors would need to give up Harrison Barnes and Klay Thompson to pick up Rondo. Bucher thinks the Rockets would have to part with Omer Asik, Jeremy Lin and an unprotected first rounder to get Rondo. I don't see any of these happening. The Rockets deal is super one sided, and the Warriors have something special brewing out west with the core they have.

So what's the Knicks story? Marc Stein reports this.

The Knicks have nothing to offer, plain and simple. Can we move on New York? Out of all of the rumors, the Kings deal seems like the most accurate report.

Yahoo Sports Marc Spears

Source said Sacramento offered Isaiah Thomas, Ben McLemore and two picks for Rajon Rondo. Rondo wasn’t interested in re-signing with Sacramento.

There you have it, the rundown of possible trades that have come up regarding Rondo. None of the alleged rumors sound like a win for the Celtics. Trading Rondo in my book wouldn't be a win in any case.

  1. Danging Rondo is maybe worse than trading him. Danny is disgusting to me.

  2. I'm starting to believe that Rondo is an easy target. These sites like Bleacher report just want clicks. Danny could be a victim in this too.
