Rajon Rondo leads Celtics past Nets 91-84

When you look at the stat sheet and see 28 turnovers. You would obviously think that was the team that lost. That wasn't the case for the Boston Celtics who beat the Nets, 91-84. The Celtics were 1-8 when they turned the ball over 18 times or more. Rondo was the guy that set the tone from the start. Rondo was rolling in the first quarter, knocking down 3-of-3 from three-point land. He paced the Celtics in the first quarter with 11 points in the quarter. Rajon Rondo finished with 20 points, nine assists and seven rebounds.

The Celtics led by 12 at halftime and as much as 18 early in the third quarter, but the Nets rallied a few times to get within 5 points a few times. The Nets never had a lead in this game. Former Celtics captain Paul Pierce finished with 10 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals, and 1 assist in 21 minutes. The Celtics (21-41) snapped a two-game losing streak. It was a nice comeback after the blowout from Golden State.

  1. It seems to be extremely important for this team not to lose control of a game in the first quarter.

Bayless and Green were both huge at times in this game.

I won't say if, I'll say when, Rondo gets to where he can score consistently over the course of a game, we will have a true superstar ...
