The Boston Celtics seem to have the most to offer for Kevin Love, and it seems like a common sense type of move if your Minnesota. The only way Boston loses the Love sweepstakes is from a team over buying, or taking a chance. Love is either the fireworks, or the start before the grand finale. Most NBA guys believe that Love will be in Boston. But you know how that goes, the next day it will be Cleveland or Houston.
The Celtics have the No. 6 and No. 17 picks in next week's NBA Draft, but whether or not they actually make those picks is anybody's guess.
It sounds like they'd rather not make them, based on the latest report by ESPN's Chad Ford.
Ford writes in his latest mock:
"The Celtics are trying hard to use pick No. 6 and 17 along with future No. 1s and young players such as Jared Sullinger or Kelly Olynyk to persuade the Minnesota Timberwolves to trade them Kevin Love. One source close to the Wolves said that while Flip Saunders does not want to trade Love, he realizes the team likely will lose him this summer and the package the Celtics are offering is probably the best he's going to get."
This news has been out for awhile, but it's my turn to talk about it. This move needs to happen, this deal insists that Rondo is the guy that the Celtics are building around. It also means that another big move could be right there. It also means the rebuilding process will be short lived. Don't get me wrong, the Celtics will need more than Rondo and Love to get another banner. I don't know who that third player will be to go along side Love and Rondo. But you know Ainge will get something going after the Love deal..
