The Celtics will likely miss out on Gordon Hayward

I wasn't a fan of signing Hayward to begin with. So this doesn't break my heart one bit. He's a great shooter, and that alone doesn't sway me. Sorry Stevens, this guy won't jump start the rebuilding process.

A possible reunion between Celtics head coach Brad Stevens and his former player at Butler, Gordon Hayward, sounds unlikely in Boston.

It's not that the Celtics don't have interest in the Jazz swingman - they do - it's just that the Jazz have just as much (if not more) interest in retaining him.

Gordon is a restricted free agent, but Jody Genessy of the Deseret News in Utah reports that the Jazz are prepared to match any offer that Hayward gets. He reports that the Suns, Celtics, and Bobcats are all interested.

He also reports that the Suns are expected to make a "significant offer, possibly a max deal", but that Utah would match that as well.
