Garnett not bothered by Pierce leaving, likely not retiring

I reported yesterday that KG may not come back after Pierce departed for the Wizards. It sounds like he's going to give it a go with the Nets anyway.

Despite the loss of Paul Pierce via free agency, Kevin Garnett likes the direction of the Brooklyn Nets and is "excited" about joining them for the upcoming season, sources told ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard.

Garnett, who turned 38 in May, is due $12 million in 2014-15, which would be his 20th NBA season.

He has yet to publicly announce that he's playing this season, but all indications continue to point that way. On Saturday, a league source told that the Nets still expect Garnett to return.

I hope he comes back, but at the same time it was hard watching him last year. He wasn't the same player, and I don't know if it was Kidd putting him on a minutes restriction or just KG didn't have it. Will see in time, and until KG announces he's coming back. It will be a question. I also miss those two guys together up top in the picture.

  1. Too funny. So much for the stories about how joined at the hip those two guys were...
